SYF!

SYF today!
And well, I wasn't really very nervous. It was just mostly happiness when we sang our songs in front of an audience we didn't know would be there, and we all thought it was quite good. Thankfully we really became a choir-- as in a group together-- in the warm up room.
Yeah, so 20 of us got to go into the concert hall to listen to the results, and the results were read chronologically (do you call it chronologically?), meaning our choir was the last.
The first few choirs were all bronze and bronze and the occassional silver, until it came to ACS (don't know which branch.), who got the one and only Gold with Honours for today. Then the person reads on with silvers and bronzes, with Fairfield getting Gold, which is sad for them cos they dropped in standard. There weren't any CoPs, quite thankfully.
SO, after what seemed to be an eternity, the emcee read:
"Choir fifty-four, Xinmin Secondary School..."
*pause for effect (it seemed quite bloody long to us)* "...Gold."
And WE GOT GOLD!!! :D
whoohoo.

Here comes the honour roll. (You might as well just scroll over this part)
Much thanks to....

THE SENIORS who came to vch to give their support:
-miss tan and miss wee (who, incidently, are ex-choir members who are now teaching in xms)
-huimin and sebastian

-zi qin and sheila (who both dyed their hair!)
-danny
-samantha

EX-XMCHORALE ppl who gave their support through sms-es and such:
-andrina
-zong yi

-jeremias (who really should have been singing with us, had he not gone to NUS High)

NON-SYF choir members:
-peiyu, fangfang, shijie, yuying (for making those lollipop things for the whole choir!)
-yuenling, yvette and cheryl (for coming down today)
-every other non-syf member who gave their support..

FRIENDS who gave their 'all the best's and 'good luck's:

-my other banana, jmi (who would wanted to wait also, but had piano lesson)

The all-important TEACHERS:
-Mrs Yeap (for guiding us along the journey)
-Mrs Khor (for the beautiful ribbons, heh.)
-Ms Quek (whose pep-rallies woke the choir up)
-Mr Ho (for going down to VCH today to lend his support)
-Mr Chia (who, upon receiving the good news, replied "Yippee!")

AND the most important people:
-THE CHOIR! (Minghui worked the hardest...)
-MR YONG! (Without whom the choir wouldn't have gotten a Gold)
-MS LIM! (Whose comments really helped.)

The taste of Gold is so.... indescribable. I mean, I can't believe we just had SYF 4 hours ago. In the blink of an eye, SYF is over and done with, and we the Sec4s are stepping down soon. I still can't believe I was there on the stage of VCH, singing for an unexpected audience and for the judges, and then sitting in one of the back rows, waiting anxiously for the results. Really. It all seems like a dream...

Tomorrow, you'd be hearing Mr Chia go:
"In 2001, our choir got a Bronze.
In 2003, our choir recieved a Silver.
In 2005, our choir managed to get their first Gold.
And this year, our choir has done us proud again by getting Gold."
*insert claps and hoots here*
