maybe I should study sociology instead.

Something troubles me.
Why is it that people don't buy things from other people who say they need help? Okay, so they say that these people are conmen. But seriously, is there any proof for this? That these 'needy' people are conmen and not really in need of help?
Is it just an excuse society made up to make themselves look less guilty for not buying?
What about those who REALLY are needy? They can't sell anything or get money because everyone out there thinks they are conmen.
You might say that these people could go get a job rather than beg for people to pity them. But really, we don't know how hard it is for them to get jobs, especially the elderly. The government has so many cases that there are bound to be some who just can't be helped. Even educated, young people can find it hard to get jobs.
We don't know how hard life is for some people. We don't know how hard it is for some people to even have a decent meal. We don't know how hard it is to try and try, yet have no one looking in your way.
So we ignore these people.
